Angels Care Academy at Baby Angels Center is a highly regarded early childhood education program for infants and toddlers that follows a play-based approach; we are determined to offer learning experiences that promote the development of the children’s Social-Emotional, Cognitive, Language and Literacy, Health, and Physical development skills. Everyday experiences encourage children to explore and learn in a fun and creative way to ignite their curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning.
We are proud to implement appropriate child development teaching practices that promote children’s active learning, engagement, and participation through hands-on experiences and play opportunities, which have been shown to be highly effective in ensuring academic success. Our nurturing environments and individualized support ensures that all children and their families receive what they need to develop in a healthy way. You can be confident that your child will receive the best possible start in life at Angels Care Academy.
Our areas of focus are:
- Primary Care – assigning a primary infant care teacher to each child and family
- Small Groups – creating small groups of children and caregivers
- Continuity – maintaining consistent teacher assignment and groups’ overtime
- Personalized Care – responding to individual needs, abilities, and schedules
Each day, utilize daily resources focused on language and literacy skill development, and read aloud using our children’s appropriate books and Digital Children’s Library from a wide range of genres that explore life in other cultures, celebrate diversity, spark curiosity, and inspire children’s imaginations.
We also use the following tools: ASQ, DRDP, Class assessment and environmental rating scale (ITERS).
We invite you to spend some time in your child’s classroom to become familiar with the ins and outs of their play, is a window into their heart and mind.
The Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP) is a Developmental Continuum from Early Infancy to Kindergarten Entry. It is a formative assessment instrument developed by the California Department of Education for young children and their families to be used to inform instruction and program development. All our students are monitored and assessed utilizing this formative assessment for developmental benchmarks. These are communicated with parents during parent meeting conferences. Assessments are done once per year and parents will be notified of parent meeting conferences two weeks before the meeting. We pride ourselves in our parent/school partnerships that help nurture the development of your child. Lead teachers, with assistance from teacher aides, will gather information for portfolio assessments of individual children. These assessments will include written regular anecdotal observations, photos, samples of artwork, and other examples of child’s development. We try to gather samples of all areas of development: physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and language, including descriptions of body language communication. Observations are used to assess the needs of children, to plan curriculum and to problem-solve when children have special needs. Good written anecdotal observations are invaluable when working with parents and making referrals to other professionals. They also provide a record of a child’s developmental milestones.
If you have any questions about child assessments please don’t hesitate to call us at 619-934-0904
When we agree that the time is right for your child to start the potty learning process, it is very important for both the primary care provider and childcare staff to be on the same page and communicate on a regular basis. It is the policy of Baby Angels Center #2 to potty learn the children in underwear only. While potty learning, and until your child is completely successful in his or her toileting, NO overalls or clothing with suspenders, snaps, buckles, belts, or zippers should be worn. Elastic-waist pants only. Anything else sets your child up for failure.
We also ask that your child have at least Four complete changes of clothing and several pairs of underwear in his/her cubby during this period. When ready please make sure to fill out the potty learning contract with your child’s teacher to make sure that both family and teacher are consistent at home and childcare center. This will help the child have a positive experience while potty learning.
